New Banner: Knowing When To Stop

Oh brave valiant heroes ... not!

So, having masterfully executed a less than perfect plan and taken out all the male giants and any threat, we find ourselves again close to death through sheer stupidity.

The female Fomorians were ready to surrender and bow to our wishes, but we attacked them in their caves. Coming out in a rage they trampled all over us sending us scattering, but still they offered surrender.

Did we take it, no we didn't.

Ragnar chose mistook raised arms for menace and carried on with the attack.

Eventually, barely alive (especially Durin) we took their final surrender.

On the upside we got a magic boat and armfuls of fancy treasure and useful magic.

Onward to the conclusion of this Odyssey of Lunacy ...

Goodness knows what Durin is going through in the position he finds himself in.

I do hope she is wearing knickers!

Hedzor said...

Of course she isn't.

Ah...this heroic scene truly captures the bravery and perseverance of our heroes.

If only Bodush had been there to partake in the glory...

Oh dear Lord...Durin's supposed to be chaotic good, not some psycho who mixes sex with killing!

Kirk, you have a knack for taking anything I say and warping it to make our game that much more terrifying.

Glad to see Hawkmoon isn't loosing a torrent of arrows at the women and children...

Did it escape anyone's attention that it was - as with Roly's chests - Hawkmoon who actually got the loot...?!

You're lucky Chen isn't here - you'd all be penniless!

@Mendez: Face/boob is better than face/fanny anyday...

Scott, did you miss the post where I called Hawkmoon out on his opportunism?

Charlie Stilton said...

Yeah - I must have done...

Repost in here? :-p

Charlie Stilton said...

Aha - found it...

Do you recall ever seeing Hawkmoon's original sword?

TieDye said...

No, but that's not necessary - Durin successfully spotted the really nice giant sword, and it's not the same one that Hawkmoon's "contributing"! ;)

Hawkmoon grins down wryly at the dwarf.

"Since you all seem to have developed the habit of losing treasure since I met you, I just thought I'd keep this one safe for the time being.

But you can have it your way, comrade..."

He swaps the unidentified longsword back for his old one.

Well played, Josh - I hope you enjoyed my character development as much as I did :-)

TieDye said...

=) Well, you've been gradually and consistently giving your characters more personality - it's an interesting thing to watch!

Who'd have thought any roleplaying would enter into our group's games?!

Shame Durin called HM on the sword though - it's waaaay better than the masterwork he's been left with :-p

It'd be wise to divide up the magical treasure now and sort out payment later.
As Thesis gains nothing from the Gauntlets, perhaps Durin can take them instead and not worry about his debt to Eolar?

RoboGeek said...

Indeed, if +2 helps him, then go for it.

Who is going to use the arrows though? Hawkmoon probably doesn't need them, maybe Eolar or Thesis might make better use of them in early stages of a combat. Except of course you'd expect Eolar to be casting not firing at that stage.

Hedzor said...

Truthfully, giving +4 arrows to the Archer who's already got a +2 bow makes half of their bonus pointless.
Hawkmoon would only get an additional +2 to hit and damage from them.
Thesis would get +4 to hit and damage!

But Durin is not wearing light armour, is he? Sorry to always be the bearer of bad news ;-)

Eolar doesn't really need the arrows since he can do more damage through spells and can also imbue his arrows with +3 if necessary.

Eolar could wear the gauntlets, but I already get +4 Str from a belt :D

OK - Thesis LENDS Durin his +2 Str Ioun stone and dons the gloves and swaps his chain mail for the chain shirt. (need both to make it possible)

Thesis also takes hold of the +4 arrows and would be happy to pay for them should we come to that.

How's that?

Hedzor said...

Durin could always swap his Breastplate for the chainshirt +2.
I'm not sure what that would do to his AC though...

TieDye said...

Thanks, Kirk, but a +2 Chain shirt instead of my +2 Breastplate would lower my AC by 1. I'll happily take the +2 Ioun stone, though!
