It was good to be the captain....

Disarmed and barefoot, Captain Ironheart is languishing below decks. All thoughts of escape have been dashed after all her attempts have been dashed. Picking her manacles with a hairpin would have worked, but unfortunately the b*st*rd Vidar had not only spotted her, but also easily stopped her in her tracks as he had her surrounded. Still, all is not lost. It seems that these St. Cuthbertian lunatics are chasing one of their own. She is not the only one who has heard the rumours of the renegade captain, but she is almost certain that the burning wreckage she came across last week must have been his handiwork. Her crew had even picked up a survivor.

While letting her crew torture the poor sailor to death with drops of burning tar seemed like a good idea at the time, and certainly was great for morale, having gotten some more intelligence from him would probably be better now. What was it he was shouting about? And what had caused those wounds on him when they found him.?

Still, she is the only one that would be able to direct the party back to the waters she found the drifting ship. Perhaps she could survive the gallows this time. As the cleric approaches she smiles her most ingratiating smile, her crooked mouth grinning up at Eolar.

"You know, Cleric, I might have a wee proposal for ye...."

Eolar (surrounded by a zone of truth) looks down at the chained up captain.
"I'm all ears! But it'd better be good...."

Adia grins wickedly. "You are looking for the traitor, Lejon? I may know how to find him. But I can't help you if I am swinging by the neck, now can I?"

Joebroesel said...

"Yes we are. If you can give us his whereabouts I'm able to put in a good word for you. But if you are deceiving me you will die in divine fire before ever seeing a judge. What do you know about Lejon?"

Adia frowns "I saw the burning merchantman northeast of here, not far from Land's End Mission."

So, has she bought her life with that little tidbit? Are we going on a wild goose chase up to find a ship which was possibly raided by Lejon a week ago?

We need more information than that I think.

PS - Ol' Ears ... that was genius comment Kirk!

I suggest we go south west...

"You really think I'm stupid enough to fall for this useless information? A burning ship a while ago is hardly enough evidence that Lejon was there or still is. What I need is the location of his base or evidence for an area of operations. You won't escape death without that!"

Adia shrugs "Well, it wasn't us regular pirates. They didn't loot the ship for valuables. We found parts of its cargo drifting around. Only a religious nutcase would leave perfectly good loot lying around.

Look, cleric, I have told you what I know. Besides, I thought all you St. Cuthbertites were down south for training exercises at the moment."

I say we bring her along to see if her story's legit. Since she could be leading us into a trap, we'll have to use a charmed version of her to check out anything dangerous we come across. We'll have to weaken her beforehand and keep her on some sort of leash to ensure she won't try to kill us or run away.
Of course, if I were evil, I'd suggest torture...
